Antonio Bernocchi (Castellanza, January 17, 1859 – Milan, December 8, 1930) was a European business magnate, philanthropist, entrepreneur, politician and patron of one of the most important Italian textile industries group in Europe since 1850. Bernocchi was one of the most famous patrons of the Metropolitan City of Milan and Legnano. Antonio Bernocchi revolutionized the Textile industry, and defined the structure of modern philanthropy.〔() "La lezione del passato. Corriere della sera, October 20, 2013〕 == Biography== Bernocchi was a co-founder of the Bernocchi Enterprises Company with his brothers Andrea and Michele, which dominated all the Textile industry in Europe, up to the sixities years. Born into a family of very humble origins, he was able to make only a few study at the Technical School of Busto Arsizio without getting any highchools and university study title. In 1865 the father Rodolfo founded, with few financial resources, fruits of hard savings, a small business of bleaching in Legnano city, in the locality Gabinella. In the early 1874, he collaborated with six craft workers family members. The founder's sons, Antonio, Michele and Andrea, become, the primitive crafters of one of the largest European textile industries, started with the name ''Cotonificio Bernocchi''. The Kingdom of Italy was replaced by the Italian Republic and soon came the deep oil crisis, the family Bernocchi decided to close the factories all around Europe (Romania, Bulgary, Greece, Tunisia, Africa, Italy, etc.) and to converted the assests in part several different markets, like the first private energy production in Italy and in the mechanical sectors.〔(Archivi, biblioteche e territorio: Vol. I - da Arese a Legnano, Consorzio Sistema Bibliotecario Nord )〕 In short time Bernocchi family members become financemen, shareholders owners and board directors of severals companies worldwide, like of the Franco Tosi Meccanica, along with the sons of the founder of Tosi and the Falck family, which built the first Diesel engine in Italy. Bernocchi dynasty becoming one of the most important families of European industrial history, especially but not only in the Italian fashion industry, energy productions and industrial factories innovation and design. In 1929 he was named Senator of the Italian Kingdom. Among the most important honors conferred we remember the most important title of Italian governments: the "Grand Officer of Order of the Crown of Italy".
